| The fingerprint reader would not work at all; it didn't detect the finger being applied. It was suspected that there is a cover on the reader eye. Laptop's user guides were pretty detailed on the fingerprint registering, but they failed to mention about the tape. Also some discussion on the web was found on the issue, and the claim was that there is something like a cover but it doesn't affect the reading process. Finally the adhesive (yes, it was there) began to rip off, and taking it away cured the problem. |
